So what’s your horoscope say today?
Do you check out your daily horoscope?
I wonder if there are others like me who will check out their horoscope every now and then, and if they don’t like what they read, will find one that they like better?
Are you also amazed that when you are reading all about your zodiac sign, that it actually sounds a bit like you?
I never understood how the stars moved, until I realised that it was actually the earth that was moving, so that is probably why I always read any zodiac sign of my choice!
You might not be surprised to find that there is a long history of humans who looked up at the stars to plan their lives.
Farmers used to use the sky as a calendar as far back as the Ancient Egyptians, when the rising of Sirius, the Dog Star, around mid-July, was seen as a marker of the imminent annual flooding of the Nile.
Travellers used the skies as a compass, following the stars to know where to go. And many people used the skies as a source of mystical direction, too. Read more here
The Zodiac is divided into 12 signs, for instance, Aquarius is known as the water bearer. Aquarians tend to have a lot of energy and have a great curiosity for new experiences.
They are generally known to be friendly and loyal, while extremely creative, though impulsive and independent.
Sagitarians are often fair minded, intellectual and optimistic, and can be the friendliest person at a party, but can be blunt and impatient.
Each of the 12 horoscope signs belongs to one of the four elements:
Air, Fire, Water and Earth.
These elements represent an essential type of energy that acts in each of us.
The aim of Astrology is supposed to help us focus these energies on the positive aspects of our lives, and to gain a better understanding of our positive traits and potential, and to deal with negative ones.
These four elements help describe the unique personality types associated with the astrological signs.
The four zodiac elements exhibit profound influence on basic character traits, emotions, behavior and thinking. Read more here
Is it really what is seems though?
Nasa is said to have reported that there could be a new constellation which would mean there are 13 Zodiac signs and the dates would now be different.
The 13th Zodiac sign is called Ophiuchus and it’s the star sign for people born between November 29 and December 17. Read more here
So that just makes it more interesting for people like me!
On reading my new Zodiac sign, it told me that I have the tendency to age backwards and would look younger in my senior years.
I was delighted to read this and have decided to believe this report if it meant that I would not look as old as I feel in the years ahead!
Though Reuters have just ruined that fantasy for me “quote”…
Posts sharing the claim that NASA changed the zodiac to include a 13th astrological sign are false.
NASA also later addressed the claim on it’s Twitter page, explaining that it did not change zodiac itself, but included a sign that has been left out since Babylonian times.
Of course, astronomy and astrology are two very different things, and whatever makes you happy is surely important if it encourages postive thoughts.
So if you like reading your horoscope, or rather, like me, like choosing one that suits your frame of mind that day, then surely, what is the harm?
I’m going with my new Zodiac sign now, since it was so complimentary!
